Jesus Has Selected Memory? (John 17:5)

Trinitarian doctrine would have us believe that the “man part” of Jesus was limited in his knowledge, but his memory seems to come back in John 17:5 where he states, “And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.” On top of this, it is supposed to be a verse to prove his literal pre-existence prior to his coming to this earth. In order to do this he had to transform himself into an embryo and place himself in Mary’s womb while talking to Mary at the same time (supposedly the “angel of the Lord”), gestate for 9 months and come out crying, hungry, and wearing diapers.

Trinitarians always proclaim the “man part” of Jesus was limited in his knowledge, but yet allow him selective memory.

Concerning John 17:5, what is also missed is verse 22 where Jesus gives this “same glory” to future believers who are not yet alive (v.20), but to some this supposedly proves we pre-existed as Jesus supposedly did.

Concerning ourselves, I guess we can further prove our pre-existence prior to our coming to this earth because all of us were given grace “before the beginning of time.” (2 Tim. 1:9)

None of this proves we pre-existed. Not to mention that to believe Jesus literally pre-existed would mean he was slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8) making him slain twice!

The passage in John 17:5 does not prove Jesus pre-existed as a “spirit being” or the second member of the “trinity”.

Jesus didn’t literally pre-exist as a person, but existed in God’s foreknowledge. As Peter says, Jesus was FOREKNOWN before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:20)

Jesus was in the mind of God just as the corporate church was before it came into existence.
